Property Value Reassessment:

In today's soft real estate market, it is common to see many homes assessed by the county at values higher than the market values, as there had been a large home value decline from the past few years.  The county assessment value is the value the county uses to calculate the annual property tax for the homeowners.

Los Angeles County understands that the home values across the County came down significantly and their assessors may not be able to keep all assessment values up to date.  On their website, they offer information on how to submit a simple application for reassessment.  It is a downloadable, one-page application, and it needs some evidence of recent sales that justify the lowered market value.  We are more than happy to provide the recent sales data for our clients to submit their reassessment request.
